Good Show!

Congratulations to all the champions. And to the supporters who came from around the world to see the First Task of the Tri-Wizard Tournament. The atmosphere of the event was charged with excitement, but also with respect for the capabilities of the contestants.
Of course, we all thrilled with vicarious terror as each of the champions faced death in the hide of a massive dragon, particularly as each of the beasts had such cause to turn her full maternal wrath on the interlopers. The contest could not have been more real!
Congratulations, above all, to Harry Marvolo for his courage and cleverness. I feel sure that the Quidditch managers all took note of your broomwork! I know a number of them were in the stands yesterday, and I feel sure none of them expected the show you gave them. The show you gave all of us! I trust that your injury was quickly healed. You were terribly brave to fly through it, and your final manoeuvre was so masterfully executed, it was difficult to remember that you were suffering such a fierce slashing as we all saw you take just minutes before.
Well done, all! It was a great privilege to have been able to attend.

How exciting to look forward to all those parties, too! Mrs Lindorm doesn't often have a holiday party, does she? I mean, I don't recall whether she's had one since Zabini started school. Maybe she has had. Still, getting invited to that must be well gratifying.
I can't believe you've submitted a couple papers already. You'll have to tell me if they get published and where; you can imagine we don't necessarily read all the professional journals, and Madam Pince doesn't tell us, obviously. But maybe Professor Vector would tell us if one of our own had an important article published so soon after leaving school? I'll ask her to keep an eye out. Which ones did you submit them to, again?
And don't worry that you didn't have a whole load of time to spend, I know you were there officially as well as just to see us all and watch the Task. And you think you might be back over the holidays? Now, that's an interesting hint! I can't wait to find out what you're going to be doing and why....
Well, we've got homework to catch up on since so much of yesterday was spent watching the Tournament. And I'm sure you've loads to do, too.
I just wanted to say we're all so proud of you in Ravenclaw and we think and talk about you often. And it was lovely to see you!
