Dec. 14th, 2013 10:34 amSir. Desai asked me to write. We've moved on to the third site, but haven't found more than smoldering ash. (A corpse or three, but no useful evidence.) Fairly certain Maule's people have already picked the sites clean.
We're not giving up, but we wanted you to know this isn't looking promising.
I'd say it's as likely he torched them himself, though obviously it looks like an attack on his financial interests in those brothels.
Still, Desai suggests asking MEU to look into whether Maule's in arrears on mortgage or assessments. (But then I'd think he owns the properties outright, so perhaps he's fallen into debt and is looking for insurance payouts?)
Anyway, we're combing through for signs he or someone else was incinerating evidence of any other kind. Or signs that it's a turf war starting up. Just not finding much at all.
