Come along to the spa as soon as you can this afternoon, I'll be there from noon onwards, and they'll know to show you in whenever you arrive. I'm sorry we can't do this tomorrow, but Mama and Abuelita have me to themselves then.

But, Vani, you're on hols now, anyway, aren't you? The Freedom Day parade was the last of your school obligations, I hope. They were precious, by the way, your wee marchers with their bright sashes and all those great heaps of flowers! Some of them were completely invisible behind their bouquets! Good show. I heard they were rewarding villages whose schools showed most loyal. Have you heard yet whether you won honours?

I'm just ever so grateful there were no security breaches. It makes us look so inept when something slips by our precautions, so you can guess we've been working round the clock and more in my department between those of us in surveillance positions and those in counterinsurgency ops.

Sarah, I hope your father was well and truly pleased that we managed a major festival with no crises for the Aurors to handle. All that was needed on the day of the event was good, solid MLE monitoring of vendors and buskers and close attention to the crowds on all our parts.

As far as I've heard, the only arrests were two mountebanks rounded up for fraudulent claims, a couple of street entertainers questioned for unsavory content in their performances, and a handful of people taken in either for selling or attempting to buy contraband of various sorts--including wands, if you can imagine anyone being so foolish as to vend those out the back of a booth, and poisoned sweets, which shouldn't surprise me, I suppose, except for the sheer stupidity of anyone's being lured in by some bloke who openly advertises such things in the journals.

I was able to properly enjoy the gala, even, which I don't think I've managed since I started training, really. Didn't you just think it was the most beautiful ball? You both looked beyond lovely. And, Sarah, everyone was saying what a well-matched pair you and Montague make. Really, Gladwell was never quite the thing.

The faerie theme was spectacularly done. And the aura of Our Lord's magic is so profound--I'm nearly overwhelmed by it whenever I go to Buckingham--I think my heart was in my mouth the whole evening. It made everyone look so much lovelier or more handsome than usual, too, didn't you think? Or was that just me? It could have been, I suppose: I'd just received a very special present, and I think wearing it makes everything appear much more- I don't know, more lively, maybe, or more vehement, or something. Odd and oddly bright. I'll show you this evening: it's the most lovely and powerful thing I've ever owned--so very special.

Don't plan on going home tonight, by the way. You weren't! were you? I've got us fully booked for our last night out as single witches on the town, and Mama's planning a gorgeous breakfast just for us, so you have to stay.
