I've tried to catch you in the office, but our schedules haven't allowed it. I've wanted to ask, though, if there's any chance you would be willing to supervise an intensive in this upcoming session. The deadline is approaching for submitting our requests, and if there's any chance you would consider me, I would absolutely rank surveillance with you as my first choice.

I realise, however, that you might not be at leisure to accept a trainee into your current work. I'm sorry to ask in this way, and I'm not asking you to tell me privately whether you would select me--only whether you are open to taking on any of us for the next session.

I am including Mr Lestrange in this message because he is able to speak to my abilities and has given permission for me to include him as a reference for future intensives.
