Professor Babbling asked me to remind all interested 2nd, 3rd, and 4th years that tonight is the second meeting of the Future Interrogators Club at 7pm in the Runes classroom. She tells me that she has enrolled a good group of committed students, but she assures me that there is room for a few more should anyone wish to go along tonight.
Tomorrow at 8pm the Debating Society meets in the Charms classroom, but you are out of luck, I'm afraid, if you have not already signed up. Professor Acton has announced that the programme's roster is full.
This is, of course, a Duelling Club week--as we were all reminded by this morning's impromptu duelling exhibition at the end of breakfast. I understand that the offending parties will be serving detentions with Professor Alecto Carrow every morning at dawn for the remainder of the week. Surely, it needn't be repeated that magic is not to be practiced in the public spaces of the castle and that it is never acceptable for students to attack one another with or without magic. Honestly, people!
Speaking of illicit behaviour, the Prefects and staff have been concerned by reports of a growing black market in various goods. If any of you has suffered loss or damage as a result of goods purchased from another student, you are asked to please report the circumstances to your Head of House or to one of your House Prefects. It is strictly forbidden to sell unlicenced, unsafe, or illegal goods inside this school, and we will see that any abuse of school rules is met with firm disciplinary action.
