Hogsmeade Day

I confess it was odd as much as nostalgic to be back in Hogsmeade this weekend. How do the shopkeepers stand being overrun by so many teenagers? I know it's especially chaotic this year with so many visiting students, but goodness, what a herd! But I suppose it's Galleons in the till. Madam Rosmerta was certainly in a cheery mood, and given the weather, she was packing in as many of them as Honeyduke's and Zonko's.
Did we really wait so impatiently for Hogsmeade's days? I remember marking off the days to the next one, and thinking it would never come!
It was good to see some of you yesterday. Avery, you especially. Looking every bit the Head Boy, too, I'd say. Moon and Laverty, look in the post for your card from the Auxiliary. I expect to see you at the luncheon!
Oh, and Patil. I thought you looked very well. It was good to see you taking leadership, too. Amusing to see that whole flock following along, watching to see what you looked at and what you chose in each of the shops. Did you realise?
I'm not sure whether I'll be able to come for the third task since I'm about to shift Intensives again--my last! There's still a chance, since they'll need as many of us as can stand security for that event, but I'm not sure whether I might be on other duty instead. I'd be sorry to miss it: the competition has been so fierce.
Good show, Marvolo! All of us in the Protectorate are expecting you'll carry us to a win!

Date: 2012-03-13 01:52 pm (UTC)(I didn't even notice, no! But Lares said he thought Davies was watching me awfully closely. Really, I don't know what it is about Quidditchers that makes them think they can treat any girl like that and she'd give them the time of day. Even if our going to the Yule Ball was just as friends, it was perfectly beastly of him to break off at such last notice. But to then decide he can just march right back into Ravenclaw Corner as if nothing's happened is the height of ego, isn't it?)
Is there a theme for the Jr Auxiliary this year? It must be smashing to get so involved in the community like that. And planning parties and organising entertainments.
Oh, and your wedding must be taking up loads of spare time, too--well, that's if you've any to spare! I bet once your intensive's over you'll all of a sudden get really excited and then it'll be there before you know it! I just hope you've loads of help because it'd be awful to not have enough time to make things just as you want them. And I know you really want to concentrate on finishing your Auror training because that's the most important thing, even though Ned's also important.
Anyway, it was so good to see you and I'm so glad you stopped to say hello. And really, we're so, so proud of you!
